John W. Pacheco serves as chief executive officer of Financial American Corporation, a Scottsdale, Arizona-based firm he founded in 1978. Outside of his professional activities, John W. Pacheco supports the work of a number of philanthropic organizations, including the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
In a recent press release, JDRF announced that it has launched a two-year partnership with Eli Lilly and Company to provide increased support for patients diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D). Through the partnership, JDRF will receive $1.8 million for its various diabetes support programs and events, including Bag of Hope, the TypeOneNation Summits, and the JDRF One Walk.
The funds will also help JDRF continue to distribute its teen and school advisory toolkits and support the Children’s Congress, which brings 150 child delegates and their families to Washington, DC, every two years to raise awareness about the importance T1D research funding. Eli Lilly has been instrumental in supporting these and other JDRF initiatives since it became one of the group’s national sponsors more than four years ago.
